✨ About Jorge Torrealba ()
Also known as El Niño, he is a Venezuelan caricaturist, visual artist, and illustrator whose work fuses color, humor & surrealism. Recognized for his innovative 3D techniques and featured in the Emmy-winning documentary “Hay Que Intentarlo”, his New York exhibitions (Discount for Ugly People – 2021, Welcome to Fart – 2023, DIMENSIONS – 2025) highlight his bold and irreverent vision of art.

Charles Chaplin actuó en más de 80 películas durante su carrera de casi 75 años. Pero tuve que viajar a Suiza para ver una de la década de los sesenta: una película casera en la que el famoso actor del cine mudo, con cabello canoso y ya con más de 70 años, salta de manera juguetona en el patio frontal de su propiedad, tomado de las manos de dos de sus pequeños hijos. La escena en blanco y negro cambia a otra donde aparece el gran comediante cenando con varios de sus hijos, cada uno tomando cucharadas de sopa a un ritmo unísono y cómico, después vemos a Chaplin con los ojos muy abiertos y con un sombrero que levita mágicamente por encima de su cabeza para el disfrute de la familia. Él está más robusto que su personaje en la pantalla grande, el vagabundo, pero conserva lo travieso: un niño entre sus propios niños.

Ese es el retrato personal que emerge del último hogar en el que Chaplin vivió, la propiedad de 15 hectáreas, Manoir de Ban, en el pequeño pueblo de Corsier-sur-Vevey ubicado en la ribera suiza, alrededor de 89 kilómetros al noreste de Ginebra, donde vivió desde 1953 hasta su muerte en 1977. La casa fue restaurada y acondicionada a principios de año para albergar un museo, como parte del nuevo complejo conocido como Chaplin’s World (El mundo de Chaplin) que incluye un museo del cine dedicado a sus logros profesionales y un restaurante en el que se sirve pescado y papas fritas para recordar su infancia en Londres.

Parece apropiado que Chaplin, una persona perfeccionista y a la que le gustaba realizar varias tareas al mismo tiempo.
