SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT: JOANNE MCDANIEL 🍯

Are you ready to grow your honey business beyond local markets? Join JoAnne McDaniel, owner of CBbees, for her presentation, “Marketing and Selling Your Honey,” on Saturday, November 7th!

JoAnne began selling honey under Florida’s cottage food laws in 2023. By 2024, she had formed an LLC, earned her bottling license, and expanded into wholesale sales with local specialty stores. During this session, she’ll share what she has learned about marketing honey and making the move from cottage food sales to retail shops.

Whether you’re just getting started or ready to take the next step, this is a session you won’t want to miss! 🐝

FLORIDA FACT FRIDAY: WORKING OXEN 🐂

Before paved roads and modern vehicles, trained oxen helped move people, equipment, and supplies through Florida’s rugged pine woods and wetlands. Oxen were not a separate breed, they were cattle trained to perform heavy draft work.

This photograph was taken in the Florida Everglades on August 10, 1910. It shows Wilson Cypress guiding oxen through the pine woods toward a boat landing. The scene offers a glimpse of how land trails, waterways, and working animals connected people and communities across early South Florida.
