250 Years of U.S. Independence is a Reason to Celebrate the Best of U.S. Music!

On July 4, 1776, 56 delegates of the Continental Congress put their lives and legacies on the line by signing a document that would eventually create a new nation, a great experiment, conceived in liberty and justice for all.

250 years later, the United States has blossomed from a frontier outpost to the most prosperous – and generous – nation on Earth, thanks to the brave men and women who continue to defend her to this day. American Made celebrates this historic event with music that defines the heart and soul of a nation, its unrelenting dedication to freedom, and its uniting philosophy of ‘E Pluribus Unum’ (Out of Many, One). This exclusive concert can be found ONLY at The Strand, and will reignite your spirit of patriotism!

Yacht Rock has become one of the trendiest music genres of the decade; a broad music style associated with soft rock or adult contemporary pop. Peeled from the AM/FM airwaves of the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s, Yacht Rock draws from smooth soul & jazz, R&B, and disco.

Yacht Rock live will feature Doug Edgell! Doug Edgell is a Pittsburgh-based guitarist and vocalist with over 35 years of performing experience. In the 1990s, he was the guitarist and songwriter for the band Sleeping Giants, and has since built a strong presence throughout the tri-state area as both a solo acoustic performer and a member of the 90s tribute band High Fidelity.

Known for his smooth vocals, versatile guitar work, and engaging stage presence, Doug brings a polished, crowd-pleasing style to every performance. Offstage, he’s known for his warm, approachable personality and his belief in music’s power to connect and bring people together—something that shines through in every show.

The entire staff and volunteers at The Strand Theater are heartbroken with the loss of Bruce Smith. Bruce was our long-time Music Director for most of our concerts and some of our musical theater productions since 2010, but that was just one tiny part of Bruce's involvement in music and the community. He was beloved by so many, and his life was had an enormous, positive impact on, quite realistically, thousands upon thousands of people. His loss cannot be understated. God called him home well before any of us were ready to say goodbye, but that's our loss to deal with. Bruce it at peace and with the Lord. Godspeed, David Bruce Smith!
