Living in northwest North Dakota creating stunning pheasant pieces comes naturally for me. The wood canvas is 26x20”, in size all hand painted and glassed. The process is very detailed orientated with several hours of time spent selecting color and glass type. There are more than 25 different types and colors of glass on this piece.
My art has glass that has been procured from all over the United States. I particularly enjoy adding hand blown glass in my art, giving it that unique one of a kind trait that can only be found in true art.
I felt truly blessed last week, the painting and glassing just flowed from me resulting with the completion of the commissioned Pheasant art and several smaller works of art. I love my time creating and the pleasure of sharing my art with others.
My pheasant and cross have both gone to their forever homes, I love seeing my art appreciated as these were.
If you’re interested in learning more about my art or commissioning a piece for your home send me a message.

It’s a beautiful wet spring day in Tucson. I’ve been creating in my own world with a nice warm cup of coffee, my paint and my brushes. Although it’s not really spring at home for another month or so I’ve been creating sunflowers and hydrangeas to bright your room. It just feels like we should bring spring into our homes.

I wanted to create a gift I could give to a couple I’d recently met. They are in the process of selling their family business, which happens to be a glass shop. Over the last couple of months I’ve gotten to know them well. They are the true example of life throwing some curve balls. Their plans had always been to retire and hand the business over to their son, they lost their son about a year ago. Their daughter is handicap and could work in the shop but could never run it. Their story spoke so loudly to me I knew I needed to creat a gift that could speak to their hearts, a mother’s heart. So I created these small 5x7” pieces and told Claire to choose the ones that spoke to her heart. She chose two, John wanted his hand in them too but Claire shud him away saying you got her big sunflower picture these are just for me.
She chose the heart we learned from Elizabeth Moore Rhodes and a the palm trees both for there special words and meaning. One of the interesting things about these pieces is how the artist eyes see what we create. Claire saw a cactus and a bouquet of flowers just by turning the pieces different ways.

Just completed a real beauty while home taking care of my son’s dogs. The ring neck pheasant is fairly common in North Dakota. This particular piece is done on a 18x24” wood substrate. It was very challenging but satisfying to create and will be offered at an upcoming local fundraiser.

Our stores are filling with Christmas decorations, some are so beautiful. The artist in me wants to reach out and touch all the pretties. My heart wants to create with a craft show coming up in Hazen ND this Saturday I thought I’d share a few of my favorite pieces.
