Art isn’t about perfection. It isn’t about getting every brushstroke right or creating something flawless.

Art is about discovering joy, finding your voice, expressing emotions, and connecting with yourself and others. It’s about being present in the moment and allowing creativity to flow without judgment.

Sometimes a splash of color, a simple sketch, or a few moments spent creating can bring a sense of peace that words cannot. Art has a way of healing, inspiring, and reminding us to slow down and appreciate the beauty around us.

Art isn’t just something we see, it’s something we feel. And often, it’s exactly what our hearts need. 💛

Cosmic Creations was off to a colorful start today!

Our young artists explored the magic of acrylic pour painting to create mesmerizing galaxies full of swirling stars, colorful nebulas, and endless imagination. Watching their excitement as the colors flowed and transformed into unexpected cosmic masterpieces was just as fun as creating the art itself!

Acrylic pouring is more than just a fun art activity—it encourages creativity, experimentation, and problem-solving as artists learn how different colors interact and move across the canvas. It also helps develop patience, observation skills, and confidence as students discover that there is no single “right” outcome. Each pour becomes an exciting exercise in exploration, prediction, and artistic decision-making.

The laughter, the gasps of surprise, and the proud smiles as each galaxy emerged made for a truly stellar day at camp.

🚀 Here’s a little peek behind the scenes at our Cosmic Creations campers in action!

✨🎨 STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: ROWEN 🎨✨

Rowen has such a fun and imaginative artistic style, and these paintings are full of personality and heart! From her colorful Pokémon-inspired characters bursting with expression to the peaceful swan painting filled with dreamy blues and floating lily pads, each piece feels uniquely her own.
💜🩵💗

One of my favorite details is that the swan painting was created as a Mother’s Day gift, which makes it even more special. The soft colors and gentle movement in the water give the piece such a sweet and thoughtful feeling.

I also love Rowen’s bold color choices, playful creativity, and the confidence growing in her brushwork with every project she creates. Watching young artists develop their own voice and imagination is one of the best parts of teaching art. 🌟

Keep following your art, Rowen — your creativity shines brighter every time you paint! ✨

Student Spotlight: Maya Vega

Maya created this hauntingly beautiful plague doctor painting with such a calm, moody atmosphere. I love the muted earthy colors, the gold textured brushwork, and the mysterious feeling she captured in such a small canvas.

Her style feels thoughtful, creative, and completely her own. Watching students lean into the subjects that genuinely inspire them is one of my favorite parts of teaching art.

Amazing work, Maya!

✨ Student Spotlight: Zoe & Austin ✨

Creativity was shining bright during our baking-inspired art day at Follow Your Art Studio!

Zoe created beautiful pastel cupcake designs filled with butterflies, sparkles, and sweet details, while Austin brought big imagination and personality to his colorful cookies and monster truck cupcake creation.

I love seeing each child’s unique style come to life through their work. From frosting swirls to sprinkle choices, every creation was completely their own — and so much fun to make!

🌟 Student Spotlight: Robby Cleveland 🌟

Robby completely surprised me with this project — and what a pleasant surprise it was.

For a long time, it was difficult to see how all of the individual wood pieces would come together as a cube. I watched him carefully build and arrange these organic shapes, trusting his vision even when the final form wasn’t obvious yet. Then suddenly, everything clicked into place, and there it was exactly as he described from the very beginning: a hand-carved wooden Rubik’s Cube sculpture.

That moment was such a wonderful reminder that creativity often unfolds in unexpected ways. Sometimes an artist sees the finished piece long before anyone else can. Robby’s persistence, imagination, and problem-solving truly brought this sculpture to life.

I love the balance between the natural textures of the wood and the geometric structure of the cube. Amazing work, Robby!

🎃Crazy Artsy got creative with pumpkins today! My students each brought their own pumpkins to transform into one-of-a-kind works of art — from dripping colors to bold designs, their imaginations are amazing!

I love seeing how each artist’s personality shines through in their creations — no two pumpkins alike!
