A few weeks ago I managed to catch up with my friend Jack Ketcham out here in nowheresville, and he brought me this killer painting! I’ve known Jack Ketchum for nearly 20 years, and seeing where his work is going these past few years has been super cool. He’s an illustrator and designer who’s moving into other things, always pushing himself and it shows in his work. I’m honored to have this painting, and I look forward to seeing what he does coming up!

I’ve always loved the Beistle Halloween decorations since I was a kid WAY back in the 70’s, I’ve managed to tattoo a few that were in the wheelhouse.. these are such an intoxicating throwback to when things were so different; cheaper, more effort and care and heart were put into things.. and … the art and music were phenomenal. Thank you to Amber for wanting such a fun tattoo! Stay cool

I had the pleasure and honor really of putting this savage island lady on my friend JAKE STRAAT while he was here the other week. When I was on his and Zuzz Rains ‘s podcast: RATS GET FAT PODCAST about 18 months ago, we discussed that when I get a shop open out here, he would come.. well he did and he’s a legend and a good friend! He and his missus came back through a few weeks later and that was great too. Anyway; tattooing is cool, it’s magical, it’s the common thread for a lot of us. No politics, no outside nonsense drama and stress- just making things that ya conjure up out of thin air and they give someone a good feeling forever. Plus I get to make a living somehow and that’s pretty cool too.

I had this idea for a custom version of cannibal poles that would greet everyone who comes into the shop, and keep the unwelcome presences at bay. The process is super fun and not difficult really, just super time consuming and something I got lost with. .. but what I ended up with could be movie props. The skulls and detached ribs are plastic, and once all gacked up and stained, they take on a personality. Ya wonder why that dummy left the beach and walked into the jungle. Anyway it was a long time ago, and now he and the guy who I guess went looking for him watch over The Seeker and make sure we all keep a good vibe. Thanks for looking and keeping life interesting!
