As we approach our final date of operation - October 31st - we thought we would post some memories from over the years.
______

When we first moved into our Yuba City location in 2016, it was previously a Karate dojo, and the only things that existed in the 3,000 square foot building were the bathroom and a few small temporary divider walls. Everything else we designed and built from the ground up, with the help of friends and family.

All of our games are filled with pop culture references and easter eggs, mainly for our own amusement. The one that was recognized the most was the number sequence used to get the final password needed for the computer system in the original CONDEMNED in Marysville: 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42

Since announcing our impending closure, we have been overwhelmed by the response. Your emails, comments, phone calls and texts have all just reaffirmed why we did this for over a decade.

For anyone who may have missed the announcement…SPOILER ALERT: We’re going out of business! And not like those furniture stores that have had a giant “GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE” banner hanging out front for 20 years. This is happening…for real for real, as the kids say.

Our final date of operation will be Saturday, October 31, 2026.

Limited tickets still remain - and yes, we, too, are running a GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE - 15% off with promo code GOOBS. Get them before you miss your last chance to play CONDEMNED2: The Box*, The Fox Tail Saloon, and The Escape Truck.

Thank you for your continued support.

*CONDEMNED2: The Box will also be open pre-Halloween week, and will feature live actors and other subtle twists, October 27-31.

All good things must come to an end…

We opened CONDEMNED in Marysville, in 2015, hoping to provide a solution for everyone in the area that had ever said “there’s nothing to do here.”

We had no clue how it would be received, but we took a gamble, and you welcomed us with open arms. Now, 11 years later (which is about 10-1/2 more than we thought we’d make it), we have made the difficult decision to move on to other endeavors.

But we couldn’t lock the doors forever without giving you a chance to play your favorite NorCal Escape Co. games one more time*. The Escape Truck, Fox Tail Saloon and CONDEMNED2: The Box** will run through Halloween night, hosting our final groups Saturday, October 31, 2026.

Unless…

one of you have been dreaming of owning and operating an award-winning escape room company, that also happens to be ranked #1 in Fun & Games in Yuba City on TripAdvisor! We would love to see NorCal Escape Co. continue to thrive here, and we would be more than happy to have a discussion about keeping it alive. Please reach out.

Thank you to anyone who has ever played our games, your support means more than we can express.

Thank you to our amazing staff for your dedication and adaptability, we literally could not have done this without you.

A big thank you to the local fellow escape room owners who have referred business our way over the years, we are fans of who you are and what you do.

And the biggest thank you to our better halves for their unconditional support and for always allowing us to pursue our latest weird idea.

It’s been fun.

The results of the 2026 Incentivized Reservation Sweepstakes are in!

Thousands entered, but there could only be one winner - because that was the rule, but mainly because we can’t afford multiple refunds.

Congratulations to our winner - who has been notified via email - your booking refund has been processed, and your escape experience is on the house.

Thank you to the 4 other - err…ummm…we mean, thousands of other people who participated.
