This is my first batch of completed masks. They are made of 2 layers of quilting cotton, and include a copper wire at the nose bridge to adjust closer to you face and decrease fogging up glasses.
Please note that these masks, on their own, will not stop the spread of Covid-19 or other illnesses, however, it will assist in reminding you to not touch your face between hand washing, as well as create a barrier between your coughs and other people. These have been requested by medical staff as a last resort product to be used in lower-risk areas.
I have begun making these cloth masks to donate to our local hospital and other medical facilities as needed. However, I wanted to offer them for individuals as well. I will continue to post pictures as I create them, and if you would like some, please let me know and I will do my best to deliver as supplies allow. I adjusted a pattern I found online, and the need is great, so I am not charging for thiese. If you would like, I will accept donations to offset the cost for making them, and allow me to supplement my current supplies. My other suggestion is to donate directly to a local need of your choice. In this way, you will be passing forward my efforts to help people in any way I can. Thank you!
Please note that these masks, on their own, will not stop the spread of Covid-19 or other illnesses, however, it will assist in reminding you to not touch your face between hand washing, as well as create a barrier between your coughs and other people. It has shown some effectiveness at reducing the spread of the flu and some other illnesses. It's a small measure we can take to help keep everyone healthy, not just yourselves.
