There’s a lot more happening inside the SisQ Bee Club’s Pollinator Garden than you might notice at first glance. 🐝🌼
Tucked inside the Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds, this 40-by-60-foot garden provides food, shelter and nesting space for bees, butterflies, birds, beetles and other local pollinators. Club volunteers return throughout the growing season to water, w**d and keep the garden thriving.
Through a partnership with Yreka Union Elementary Schools, students in grades 4–8 also get involved through hands-on classes—planting seeds and native species, identifying pollinators and learning why these small creatures are so important to the food we eat.
We’re grateful to the SisQ Bee Club and its volunteers for creating and caring for such a special educational space right here on the fairgrounds. 🌱
