📚✊🏾 COMMUNITY. CULTURE. LITERACY. ✊🏾📚
The 29th Annual Ann Arbor African American Downtown Festival is in full swing, and we want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has stopped by the Black Stone Bookstore booth today.
Every conversation, every book purchased, every recommendation shared, and every new connection made reminds us why Black Stone Bookstore exists. We are more than a bookstore—we are a place where stories are preserved, history is honored, knowledge is shared, and community is strengthened.
It has been inspiring to see families introducing children to books that reflect their heritage, lifelong readers discovering new authors, and community members investing in literature that educates, empowers, and uplifts.
If you haven't had a chance to visit us yet, there's still time! Stop by our booth, browse our carefully curated collection, and meet Kip Johnson, co-owner of Black Stone Bookstore, who is representing us throughout the festival.
🎤 And don't miss our very own Athena Johnson, performing live at 4:15 PM. Be sure to show her some love and support as she takes the stage!
🏪 Can't find the book you're looking for at the festival? Our brick-and-mortar bookstore is open today during regular business hours. Feel free to stop by the store, where our Book Associate Joy is ready to assist you in finding your next great read.
Whether you visit us at the festival or in the store, we are honored to be part of a community that values culture, education, and the transformative power of books.
Thank you, Ann Arbor, for continuing to support independent bookstores, Black authors, and spaces where knowledge and community thrive.
