Meet September 2nd's Ypsi Fine Arts Club Raffle Artist: Erin!

A life long drawer and Eastern Michigan University Fine Arts graduate, Erin currently pursues her life's calling as a moonlight artist. While her primary focus is creating representational work that expresses her fascination for various subjects, a printmaking class sparked Erin's love for monoprints and abstract work.

Erin now incorporates unexpected, collage elements into every piece of art she makes, and dedicates time to making entirely non-representational work such as her work being raffled on August 19th. Erin is excited for the discoveries ahead on her journey with found object artwork.

Erin will be raffling off works from her series "Reaction." The raffle winner will be able to pick three works from this series.

Tickets are $5 ea, or $50 for 5 tickets and can be bought in person at YFAC.

YFAC meets every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. Doors at 5pm, Presentations at 5:30pm.

Printmaking and fiber arts share a deep connection through process, repetition, and labor. Historically, both practices have existed at the intersection of art and utility — creating objects that warm the body and home, communicate information, tell stories, preserve histories, and mark cultural identities.

Surface Labor celebrates the often-unseen work behind these traditions.

Meet tomorrow's raffle artist: Iman Hathaway!

Iman is an Ypsilanti based artist and educator self-taught in the medium of glass. Before pursuing this passion, Iman studied engineering and computer science with few other Black and female peers. In 2022, Iman spent 3 months as a resident artist at BCA in Ballyvaughan, Ireland, independently researching and experimenting with stained glass. Now Iman continues to expand her compositions into 3-dimensional projects, mirror, and wood. The overarching goal of all her work is to encourage the viewer to make space for self care and rest while spending more time near a window absorbing light. View Iman’s current exhibition Dreams of a Redbone at Dzanc House through August 28th.

For the past 3 years, Iman has had the wonderful opportunity to teach stained glass techniques to the growing Riverside community in Downtown Ypsi. As we continue to expand RAC's glass programs, we are excited to be offering (1) class slot for Beginner Stained Glass coming up this October! During this 1-day class, students will learn how to cut, grind, foil, and solder while creating their own piece of stained glass artwork! (See Beginner Stained Glass for more details).

The winner will have the option to attend either 1-day workshop on October 17th OR October 18th, 2026. $5/entry, unlimited entries. 18+ to enter.

Apply to be a vendor at the 2026 Holiday Art Fair at Riverside Arts Center!

Riverside Arts Center is now accepting vendor applications for our annual Holiday Art Fair, a vibrant indoor market celebrating handmade goods, vintage treasures, and small-batch artisan products. We’re looking for a diverse mix of artists, makers, collectors, and premade food vendors to join us for the fourth annual Holiday Art Fair. Space is limited, and vendor selection will be juried to ensure quality, variety, and fit with the spirit of the event. Early applications are encouraged.

Announcing Riverside Arts Center's 2026-2027 Gallery Season -

Ypsi is fueled by creativity. We're here to celebrate and uplift this community of brilliant thinkers and dreamers. Ypsi knows the creative process is messy, inefficient, wayfaring. We know that creativity requires time to breathe and germinate. Requires mistakes that allow artists to expand their vision. Requires imperfection, rules, and the breaking of rules. Every day at RAC, we bear witness to the power of humanity, poured into every brush-stroke, every song, every jump.

This season, experience the transformative and power of the arts at Riverside.

Our 2026-2027 season features four group exhibitions that will be curated from open calls, two partnered exhibitions: one with the African American Cultural and Historical Museum and the Ypsi Fine Arts Club, and, of course, Riverside's Annual Holiday Art Fair that is host to over 60 local makers.
