These guys went and made an Ypsi-themed video game. A real one. And the storyline drops you into Grove in the first level.

Like, our studio. In a game. Made by a punk band from our own backyard.

This is exactly the Ypsi we love. Three musicians decide "yeah let's also code a whole-ass video game about our city" and then actually do it. That's the energy. That's why we're here. That's why we built this place.

How are ya?!

Last Friday night we hauled ourselves down to Aretha's Jazz Cafe at Music Hall in Detroit for the Gettin' Spins DIY Radio Publicity Workshop, and BEAUTIFUL...we're still chewing on this stuff days later.

Chris Simpson (Catch & Play Songs) and Jennifer Westwood (Jennifer Westwood and The Handsome Devils, host of "Your Americana" on WAKT 106.1) absolutely brought it. A music business pro AND a working touring artist who hosts her own radio show? You can't beat that lineup for a workshop on getting indie music played on the radio.

The line that wrecked us in the best way: "Radio doesn't respond to talent...it responds to clarity and readiness." HEAVY.

A few highlights we're still thinking about:
🎙️ Treat your music like a small business — infrastructure first, talent second
🎙️ Your EPK is everything — sharp photos, real bios, easy downloads
🎙️ Short pitches beat long ones, every time
🎙️ Pick up the phone (it's a "lost and dying art" and it WORKS)
🎙️ Old catalog still has value — streaming changed the rules
