Happening in two weeks, The Fredricksen Stage Combat Intensive (at the University of Michigan May 8th-10th) is a great place to learn about actor movement and skills in a way you won't find anywhere else!
=> New to stage combat/fight choreography? There's a great split focus (dual) track where you'll sample two disciplines (Rapier & Dagger AND Two-Handed Sword) over the 20 hours of training with our own Jen Pan!
=> Interested in German Longsword? Spend 20 hours getting a wonderful exposure of the German style of Longsword applied to stage with D Granke!
=> Fan of the classics? Spend 20 hours exploring Rapier & Dagger choreography that originates with Erik Fredricksen, the intensive's namesake, with Nate Mitchell!
=> Nervous/interested about Fi****ms in performance spaces? The Theatrical Fi****ms Safety Course will help you to advocate for safer environments and you'll learn more about the types of tools at your disposal with our own Joe Wright!
More than just "fake sword-fighting", these classes offer you a chance to broaden your movement skillset and learn how to truly engage and (narratively) connect with your scene partner while learning from teaching artists with professional experience who are certified instructors!
