I want to extend my sincere thanks to Howard Hewett for lending his timeless, soulful voice to this rendition of Ribbon in the Sky.
Howard’s voice is something that’s really difficult to put into words. There is a depth, a sincerity, and a feeling in his voice that you recognize immediately. Howard’s voice has this rare ability to truly move the listener. And what he brought to this recording elevated it in a way that means so much to me and my family. My wife Karmen always loved Howard as a singer, and that admiration has lived within our family for many years. I have always appreciated his artistry, and we are deeply grateful that he was willing to share his gift on this recording.
Howard and I also share a meaningful connection through the great George Duke. I had the honor of recording George’s composition “This Time” on Howard’s album, and we both shared a deep love and respect for George. He was an extraordinary composer, writer, and musician whose influence continues to live on through all of us.
