The Disco Garden in downtown is OPEN! This cute little space is an outreach of the Purple Cat organization, which serves adults with special needs in our region.

This little shop is now open weekly for customers to come in and shop for goods made by the artists in the group, swag from the musical band The Feral Cats, eggs produced on the farm, sandwiches and wraps made by the Cafe, and more!

ONCE IN A LIFETIME...(if at all) do many Dads get to dance with their daughters. And that moment is usually at a wedding or some other rare occasion. You just don't see it happening very often.

HOWEVER, there is a local organization that strives to promote meaningful moments of fatherhood and celebrate at the same time! Once a year, Warriors Inc Youngstown hosts a Daddy Daughter Dance with no age limit!

So, this is your official invitation to buy a ticket before its too late for the 2026 dance! :) I hear great things every year after the dance!

Also, for Dad/Fatherhood support, also check out The DadBROS, who serve to just provide community, encouragement, and support in real and practical ways! Being a good Dad is not easy, but it's soooo important. Sometimes you feel like you're failing and you just need an encouraging bro in your corner!

There are multiple ways to connect in our region! :) You are never alone! :)

Warriors Inc also hosts the FREE on MarketSt, where you can pop in and play or learn chess!

We have such great people in our region!

RED, WHITE, AND BLUE flowers all through downtown ! ❤🤍💙

That was the mission behind the Youngstown Cityscape Planting Day of 2026! And AMAZING PEOPLE from all over the city showed up for it!

My friends at the Youngstown Foundation had a team that I got to join, our Federal Prosecutors office had a team out there, WesBanco had their amazing team, LOOP Youngstown had their creative team, CCA had their hard working group out there, the City of Youngstown had many of their staff out there, including Mayor McDowell and David Labra (city events coordinator), the Youngstown ambassadors from the Economic Action Group, and many more!

Families showed up, retirees showed up, first timers and those who've showed up every year, all came together to make this city beautiful!!

NOTE: Struthers also had a planting day on the same day! I love when people come together to make their neighborhoods, city, region, and nation better!! 💕

I wanted to give you a glimpse into some of the faces that showed up AND acknowledge some of the businesses that donated lunch for the volunteers!

WOW!!! What a beautiful experience it was at last night's at The Rusty Mug!

I LOVED seeing so many important and familiar faces AND soooo many new people!! What a group full of story, passion, experience, and uniqueness! We had people who were new to town and lifelong residents!

God blessed us with great weather and patio was perfect! Spacious and beautiful, we had the space to ourselves!

Steve (the General Manager) provided welcoming atmosphere as soon as we walked in the door with our own chalk sign and welcoming presence, even coming in on his day off! And I'm sure it wasn't easy waiting on 40 people, but our 2 servers were great!

AND as a surprise, everyone got to leave with a FREE APPETIZER coupon for their next visit!

This was the LARGEST group yet! I'm going to have to start bringing a microphone! My heart is so full and I feel like my world is constantly expanding with the amazing people in our region!

Special shoutout to Joe Chivotti, co-host of the events and founder of the Mahoning Valley Food Gurus group!

DO YOU LIKE JAZZ? Did you know that has a scene?

Last week, I went to check out the midweek jazz happening every at The Varsity Club of Youngstown! (7 PM)

This free event always makes me feel like I'm sitting in some hidden spot in some big city! The artists we have here in town are some of the BEST around and many of them are known nationally!

Stopping in midweek and hearing the spontaneity of sound by musicians with decades of experience is good for my soul! And every week, they usually have guests pop in to add their talent to the lineup!

BUT, what made it EVEN BETTER, was getting to meet some members of Youngstown Click that I had never met before!! That totally delighted my heart and I loved their fun spirit! They go ballroom dancing and I got some good recommendations from them that I'll be bringing to you soon!!! 🤗🤗

We have such amazing people in our region and especially in our Click!! So much creativity and passion! Sometimes it's hidden, but it's still there! And YOU are a part of it!

IF jazz is your scene, make sure to check out this Wednesday series in downtown Youngstown! (There is a free parking lot a block away and street parking is usually pretty available).
