About The York Art Association

The York Art Association, located in York, PA, began in 1905 when three visual artists and several businessmen came together to exchange views and interests. 116 years later, York Art Association has evolved into a vital organization with over 450 members. The primary objective of the association's mission is to provide opportunities in South Central Pennsylvania

and Northern Maryland for individuals to expand their artistic skills or simply explore creativity through classes, workshops, lectures, exhibits or using publications in the our library. To achieve this goal, the association offers year-round day and evening classes for adults, teens, and children six days a week. The York Art Association holds 26 diverse juried and non-juried exhibitions each year in our galleries. These exhibits include traditional and non-representational art in various mediums. We communicate with our members via mailed or electronic newsletters on a bi-monthly basis. This redesigned website now gives us the ability to immediately notify on-line members of current opportunities and association news for both members and non-members

Our students are a diverse group. Approximately 20 percent of our students are children, with another large percentage of enrollees qualifying as “Active Seniors” in pursuit of long-denied creative interests. All are welcome to attend. There is a minimum age for our children’s classes. We encourage anyone who has an interest in developing their artistic abilities to contact us to explore the opportunities available to them. Check out the current class schedule on the website to discover the varied courses and workshops that are available. York Art Association is a partner agency of the York Cultural Alliance.

Congrats to Chris Gold, YAA's Gallery Committee Chair on her recent award during the Adams County Arts Council's juried Exhibition.

Several YAA instructors and members were also accepted and received awards during this exhibition.

I was FLABBERGASTED when I heard my name called as winner of best in show at the awards ceremony at Adams County Arts Council’s juried exhibition for “Portrait of a Columbine”. Ruoxia Li: Office Administrator
She keeps our daily operations running smoothly and supports our members, visitors, and artists.

Anna Miler: Bookkeeper
She manages the finances behind the scenes to help keep our organization strong and sustainable.

He is leading our mission, building community connections, and helping shape the future of our organization.
