An incredible show of community and musicianship at Pine Grove Hall this evening! Nearly 25 musicians participated in the performance providing music across the genres, from classical to jazz and more! Bravo to all the groups who signed up to perform, many of whom met at the start of the festival and quickly formed their sets 🎶

Thank you to Pine Grove Hall for providing dinner for the musicians both on and off stage, as well as for providing a space for NGOF musicians to share their artistry!

And a special note, Happy 3rd Anniversary to NGOF Founder, Rebekah K. O’Brien and her husband, Jeff Erikson. They are the heart of the festival!

A big part of the New Ground Orchestra Festival's mission is to create trust and community outside of the rehearsal space through volunteering, balance activities, and more. On Day 3 of the festival, following a wonderful morning rehearsal, musicians could feel the community of women growing stronger!

Thank you to Webster's Bookstore Cafe for hosting a delicious meal prior to the afternoon's activities! Your support keeps the musicians nourished and energized!

Several members of NGOF spent the afternoon at Taproot_Kitchen, helping with food preparation and cooking! Some of the prepared food will feed our musicians tomorrow!

Others stayed at Penn State to help create a mural with Women* In Music At Penn State, finding peace and balance in the artistry!

We look forward to sharing our community with you both at Pine Grove Hall tonight, and our concert tomorrow!

New Ground Orchestra Festival not only nurthers the musicianship of current professionals, but strives to inspire a "new ground" of musicians as well!

The New Ground Orchestra was joined this morning by three Pennsylvania conductors for a masterclass led by Rebekah K. O’Brien and Pascale Van Os! Bravo to Mackenzie Cloutier, Emma Van Allen, and Jennifer Kist for excellent work, inspiring everyone on stage!

Many of our musicians also serve multiple roles. Faith Foster, NGOF Violinist, also stepped on the podium and conducted the end of rehearsal, "fostering" a essence of excitement, positivity, and community through her leadership!

Musicians doubled as farmers at Plowshare Produce on Day 2 of the Festival! Everyone spread throughout the farm to help prepare an incredible lunch spread, w**d the fields, pick and prepare floral decorations, prepare garlic, husk corn, and more!

Thank you to Bethany and Micah of Plowshare Produce for sharing your farm and providing us with a delicious lunch spread! After a morning of community, engagement, and great food, musicians feel fueled for our evening rehearsal!

The afternoon was given to musicians to rest, kayak and hike at Whipple Dam State Park, or participate in a Compassion and Resilience Workshop hosted by the Jana Marie Foundation

NGOF Musicians gathered for day one of the festival, sharing welcome activities led by Carolyne Meehan (Journaling), Rebekah K. O'Brien (Eurythmy), and Erin Leigh Koolman (Singing)! The guided balance was followed by a delicious meal gifted by Webster's Bookstore Cafe, nourishing our musicians as the prepare for the first rehearsal!
