It’s happening folks… no SNAP benefits will be distributed in November. And why am I pointing to the road out front of Riverside Subs you may ask? Because I’m working on something big. I’ve already reached out to several companies including Enterprise to see if they would be willing to donate a box truck that we can leave out front starting November 1. The goal is to fill it up with nonperishable food items over a two week period and then deliver those donations directly to families in need throughout our community.

Enterprise and a few others are getting back to me soon, but in the meantime if you or someone you know might be able to help with a box truck please reach out. If any of our local businesses would like to contribute, private message me. We’re going to get the word out as much as possible so we can pack that truck to the roof and feed as many families as possible.

If we can’t get a box truck donated to us for that timeframe, Riverside Subs will still move forward with covering the cost to make sure it happens. I’ll personally be handling deliveries once everything is collected, and we’ll have a separate sign up for families in need once we finalize the logistics. More details will come as we hear back from the truck companies and maybe even from some of you.
