One year ago I was scammed BIG time. I still haven’t got over the fact that the organizers of this event hurt so many people. I was filming content at this point and I didn’t realize that my friend had gotten a close up of my face… It was supposed to be a far away shot, but you can clearly see that I was sad. I was stressed and trying to figure out what to do. My contract was breached. I was slowly realizing that I was being scammed. I was out so much money; traveling to this event, preparing for it, paying for the hotel (which was supposed to be part of my contract), pet sitters, taking off of work, hiring my assistant, plus my house had storm damage during this time and our insurance did not cover everything and I was saving up to fix the roof. I was counting on this gig, and instead -it put me so far in the hole - I didn’t think I was gonna recover. The 2 organizers lied to me every step of the way. Even months after -they still said they would catch up. Once Upon a Con devasted me. (and so many others.) Their website is still up saying they’re going to have another event. Don’t ever attend -don’t ever trust them 🥺
