About 10 minutes into our flight, a kid, maybe 10 years old, began his game. My dad politely asked him to stop, and he did...for 10 seconds. Then, he began again.

So my dad RECLINED his seat as much as he could, and when the boy's parents asked him to put it up, he didn't.

It was an important day for me. I was on my way to see my daughter, and today was my birthday. The big eight-oh, already 80. I couldn't wait to see the happy expression on my daughter's face.

My fiancé and I have been living together for a while now, and on lazy days, we would often order pizza from the local place. Since it's a small business, the delivery guy was always the same.

Yesterday, I ordered just one box for myself since my fiancé was out of town. The delivery guy seemed nervous and asked if my fiancé was home. I said no. As he left, I opened the box and felt my heart drop.

I'm exhausted from constantly finding new nannies, only to have them quit after just one day in my house. At first, I thought the first three were just a coincidence, but now it's getting disturbing. My kids won't tell me much, but they're only 2 and 5, so there's only so much I can expect from them.

I can't go back to work until I hire a nanny who's willing to stay, so I decided to solve this problem once and for all. MY MIL USED TO PUT SECRET INGREDIENTS IN MY FOOD TO MAKE ME LOOK BAD.
So, this one day, my mother-in-law, who lived with my husband and me, casually announced she was going on a diet. Now, she's a chef, and she used to whip up these amazing, healthy meals that we all loved. But suddenly, she stopped cooking altogether. Instead, she began stashing leftovers from her restaurant in our fridge. Since she was dieting and my husband preferred fresh food, I ended up being the only one eating these leftovers. And let me tell you, they were SO good that I basically started living off them. Like, they became my entire diet.
But then, weird things started happening. My health was declining, and I was gaining weight like crazy. I was super confused because when I Googled the calories and checked the recipes, they seemed totally fine—like, they should’ve been low-calorie and packed with nutrients. Yet, something was clearly off.
Around the same time, my mother-in-law started bringing up this girl Nancy, her friend’s daughter, ALL the time. She wouldn’t stop raving about how beautiful, healthy, and perfect Nancy was. And the best part? She’d do this right in front of my husband. Then came the comparisons. Like, she was blatantly comparing me to Nancy.

'We are only here because you ate that candy Mom told you not to!' I heard my grandson say to his young brother.

I double-checked to make sure I heard correctly, then walked closer and asked him what he meant.

'Well, every time we mess up, Mom says she WILL SEND US TO "THAT WITCHES' HOUSE."

That witch?! I knew my daughter-in-law did not like me, but why bring the kids into this? I try my best to ensure they have a good time at my place. I always wanted my grandkids to feel safe here. And now, to find out it's all ruined because of my daughter-in-law's bitterness?

"Oh, honey, I never wanted you to think of my home as a punishment. You don't have to come if you don't want to," I managed to say with a shaky voice.

"We like it here! Mom just told us we can get cursed here. And being cursed is scary," he replied.

OKAY, THIS WAS OVER THE LINE. TO SCARE MY GRANDKIDS BY TELLING THEM SOME MADE-UP STORIES ABOUT ME? I could forgive her stiffness and bitterness, but involving the kids made it PERSONAL.
