Last night, the New York Knicks pulled off the biggest comeback in NBA Finals history against the San Antonio Spurs! It’s so exciting, even our mannequins are getting into the team spirit!

Our bride in donned a Knick’s cap, completing their intricate wedding dress with some sporty apparel. Meanwhile in , a riding habit, originally meant for ladies on horseback, is taking to the basketball court!

Note: This was approved (and even suggested by!) HRM’s Registrar and Collection Manager, no period costumes were harmed in the making of these photos! 😉

Who’s excited for Game 5 on Saturday?! GO Knicks!

Don’t miss Titus Kaphar’s epic painting “Ascension VI” that combines the iconic photo of basketball star Zion Williamson's showboat dunk for the New Orleans Pelicans with the 17th-century Flemish painting “Achilles among the Daughters of Lycomedes by Erasmus Quellinus.” It’s the final week to see it in .

Happy Birthday to Red Grooms! The iconic pop artist turns 89 today!

Red Grooms’s immersive sculpture “The Bookstore” has been a beloved highlight of the HRM for more than 45 years, presenting an unexpected yet thrilling mash-up of The Morgan Library & Museum and the eclectic Mendoza Book Company.

“The Bookstore” incorporates many of the themes that are present throughout his body of work: the marriage of art and commerce, the clash of high and low, and humor—all arranged in a compelling 3-D space.

Please join us in wishing Red a Happy Birthday!

The existence of Black cowboys and cowgirls was seldom acknowledged until recently, when Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” album and Pharrell Williams’s Louis Vuitton collection shined a spotlight on their proud history.

Artist Robert Peterson references this history in the title of his painting “Not My First Rodeo.” He stated: “The title came from people acting like this was our first go around. And it's like, no, this is not our first rodeo.”

Come see this work and many more monumental portraits that elevate everyday figures into inspiring, heroic archetypes and, in the process, expand the thematic parameters of classical portraiture.“Robert Peterson: Journeys” is on view through August 30.
