We're building something pretty special at Backyard Bricks, and it's only possible because of amazing local partners!

A huge THANK YOU to AMW the studio for creating these beautiful bags for our registered builders. Register early to make sure you get your hands on this exclusive builder bag that we will stuff with goodies to make your Backyard Bricks: Registered Builders experience even more memorable.

We're especially grateful to have a local business helping us welcome builders from across the region and show them what makes our community so special.

The creativity doesn't stop with the bricks, it extends to the incredible businesses that are helping bring this event to life.

Thank you, AMW The Studio, for helping us roll out the red carpet for our builders!

We spent the weekend at BrickCon, sharing our upcoming event (Backyard Bricks: Registered Builders) with LEGO MOC builders from all over the Pacific Northwest.

We can’t wait to share Yelm with our new friends during this two-day event.

Registration is open and 🆓 !!!

Thanks to ThurstonTalk.com for helping spread the word and sharing about our upcoming event! We can't wait to see our builders at Backyard Bricks: Registered Builders and the public at Backyard Bricks: Public Exhibition!

Are you an AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO)? If so, then ready your best MOC (that's My Own Creation) and register for the City of Yelm Recreation's Backyard Bricks, a brand-new, free, two-day LEGO showcase that includes challenges, giveaways, and a massive building competition on December 31, 2026, through January 1, 2027, at the Yelm Community Center.

In just FIVE months, thousands of tiny plastic bricks will descend upon Yelm for Backyard Bricks!

Somewhere, a builder is already sorting pieces by color. Someone else is debating whether their LEGO dragon needs bigger wings. And at least one person has an entire dining room table covered in minifigures (we don't judge).

If that's you—we want YOU at Backyard Bricks: Registered Builders!

Builder registration is FREE and open now. Whether you've spent years perfecting your masterpieces or are ready to display your first original creation, Backyard Bricks is all about celebrating creativity, making connections, and sharing your love of LEGO with fellow builders and the community.

Not a builder? We've got something for you, too!

Mark your calendar for our Backyard Bricks: Public Exhibition and get ready to explore incredible LEGO displays, meet talented builders from around the region, and experience a day full of brick-built fun for the whole family.

Five months may sound like a long time... unless you're building with 12,847 pieces.

Start building. Start counting down. Backyard Bricks is coming!

Before the bricks start stacking, you'll need to fuel up!

We're excited to announce that Travelin' Tom's Coffee of Tenino will be joining us BOTH days of Backyard Bricks, serving up coffee, refreshers, and other delicious drinks to keep builders powered through every masterpiece.

And because coffee and LEGO® are basically a perfect pairing, every purchase at Travelin' Tom's during the event earns you a raffle ticket for a chance to win a LEGO set!

Whether you're tackling a massive MOC, cheering on your favorite builder, or stopping by the public exhibit, be sure to swing by the coffee truck and grab a little brick-building fuel.

☕ + 🧱 = a pretty great day.

See you at Backyard Bricks!

Today, Backyard Bricks is tasting the Nisqually Valley Barbecue Rally!

Our LEGO pitmaster is ready with her spatula and drumstick and we’re excited to see another hometown event bring people together.

If you're looking for something fun to do, head out to the Nisqually Valley BBQ Rally, and enjoy everything the day has to offer. We'll be cheering you on from the sidelines!
