Good news is, I'm (mostly) alive. I just got released from the hospital and found out I was in the ICU. I had an IV in each arm and couldn't even hold my phone if I'd been conscious enough to use it. The kids and I were all exposed to something either bacterial or viral that hit all of us hard but with my already weakened immune system my body said "Well, this is IT." My potassium levels became nonexistent (which has almost killed me once before). Then my liver enzymes went off the charts. I had to have 3 infusions of potassium over 6 hrs each time to get it to stabilize. I wasn't allowed anything by mouth for 3 full days. Not even ice. It started with my daughter saying she didn't feel well. I thought her ruptured ear drum was making her nauseous. Within an hour we were both violently ill. While at the ER my son called and said he had just thrown up all over our hallway. What a nightmare. But now I know how to clear out an ER waiting room. Just fall to your knees and start reenacting the Exorcist. I'm sure they didn't want the entire crowd vomiting so they rushed me back only to find out I actually was about to die without intervention. I'm home now and at least have use of my arms.
