I headed Downeast for the long weekend, where I somehow fell even more in love with Maine. We visited Jasper Beach, a truly magical stretch of coastline covered in beautifully rounded, colorful stones. Fun fact: despite its name, the beach isn’t actually made of jasper—the stones are primarily rhyolite and other volcanic rocks, naturally smoothed and polished by the waves.
We wandered through the cutest little towns, crossed the border into Canada for the day, and explored Campobello Island, home to Roosevelt Campobello International Park and the beloved summer retreat of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt.
There was plenty of eating, drinking delightful cocktails, swimming, watching the leaves turn, exploring, and soaking up every second of the warmth. So much beauty, so much inspiration, and so many little moments to tuck away in my brain.
And now, I’m happy to be back in my studio today, carrying a little bit of all that inspiration home with me.
