BY FAR THE BEST SHOW SO FAR!
We didn’t get to play outdoors, but it turned into an amazing night with Corwin Morris joining us for a very impressive first performance! He’s a Kansas native and is attending Mt. Marty!
IN FACT, I was grateful that he could carry the show while I ran to get a cajon! He was grooving so good on the acoustic and vocals that we decided to add a beat!
The music evolved organically through the night as we all ran with whatever seemed funnest and we all felt it was something special that none of us could predict or plan. Sometimes it just all clicks!
We all broke a sweat keeping up with each other and swapping verses, experimenting with harmony on the choruses - NAILED every one we tried, for the most part. It is the MUDDY mic after all, but sometimes it’s fun to play in the mud and be kids again! 🙂
It turned into a night of various folks coming up on their own, joining in to harmonize, hit the drum, play a guitar, or just clap along! I’ll be posting images from the event over the next month!
Jasmine Treichler returned with another stellar performance across a few talents - she sang a few songs on her own, then she did a dramatic reading of one of my favorite musicals - Hamilton! She did an amazing job! She and I (Luke) finished the night out by singing a song together on guitar and we nailed it!
Our new friend John came back and played guitar and sang, and shared some amazing poetry as well! There were several lines and turns of phrase that were clever and surprised us!
Lastly - THIS WAS OUR 24TH SHOW!
While we have been doing this slightly longer due to a few breaks, this ended up being quite an UNEXPECTED ANNIVERSARY for the show!
