Hey y'all! Do you realize that half of the population will experience menopause? Do you know what happens? Tbh me neither - that's because women and older women have been systematically under-represented in the medical community - Black, LBGTQ, and other minorities face even more challenges in healthcare. These thoughts are the thesis in Anna Mullins' ongoing B&W photography project called, The Menopause Effect, An Appalachian Unmasking. Mark your calendar and invite all the wise women in your life who have guided and sacrificed for you.

Menopause touches so many lives, and so few of us talk about it out loud.

On October 22, Formato Fine Arts opens The Menopause Effect: Appalachian Unmasking, an exhibition by Anna Mullins, built from the real stories of people who have lived it. Honest, personal, and shared with care.

Please the story behind the show: https://formatoart.com/blogs/news/the-menopause-effect-an-appalachian-unmasking

Join us at 100 W Main Street in Wytheville at 6PM
Bring a friend, a sister, a mother, or someone you've been meaning to talk to.

And if this is your story too, you're welcome to share it with the artist herself, Anna Mullins , only if you feel comfortable.

Menopause art rooted in Appalachia. Anna Mullins' framed photographs open Oct 22 at Formato Fine Arts in Wytheville, VA. See the work and meet the artist.
