Got a really good video of Pearl today. She was cleaning her mouth piece a little and fluffed her sponge which is where she’s getting ready to release her baby crab larvae!

I also noticed her legs have started to grow back, she has little nubbins now. Lol.

Don’t mind the cat meow or the piece of krill floating around. I tried to feed her and she declined the food today, but I’ll leave it in there because it will likely get stuck on the filter where she can grab it at her leisure.

Chophouse crab update:

She came with oysters, not scallops, oops. I’ve named her Pearl. She ate the baby.

She’s an asian shore crab, which is an invasive species. Fortunately this means she’s hardy af. Unfortunately this means I have to be very careful about water changes.

What I mean to say is that she’s pregnant.

Asian shore crabs release larvae into the water. The larvae take 24ish days to become crabs. The issue is they lay 50,000 larvae at a time. Which in the wild would be eaten by fish and other animals but in my aquarium they have no enemies.

I can’t have 50,000 invasive crabs in my life. I’m not ready for that kind of commitment. So I have to be their enemy. I suspect I won’t be able to kill 100% of the larvae she releases. And some may become crab babies. So I guess I’ll find out if my puffers like crab.

So I got mystery crabs today. Idk what kind they are. I have a mixed set up with salt and freshwater and borrowing substrate.

The crabs came with some scallops to a local chophouse. So far they seem to be doing okay.

So I tried to change the name of my page to reflect the fact that I’m now including non-fish related topics, but it wouldn’t allow me to, should I make a new page??

This is my long fish named Mania. She’s of the ball python variety. And I just added some hardscape to her tank because she seemed to like scaling the sides and now she has something to scale.

It’s been a crazy year, had some personal stuff going on. But I’m going to be doing some fish updates soon, I promise. Thanks for sticking around.

I have most of the components to start my tank build for my green spotted puffers. They’ve been little troopers as I’ve been adjusting them into a fully marine environment over the course of the last 3 months.

I do have a question for you all: Would you be interested if I expanded my page to include my other exotics and non-aquatic plants? (I mostly keep snakes, and might expand to get other animals in the future. But I can keep the page fish based if that’s what people would prefer seeing.)

❤️-Add all of your animals, cat toe beans please, requesting pictures and updates of the void that meows and eats leaves like they’re candy

I have plans for potentially getting a moon crab, or another snake which made me think maybe y’all would be interested in seeing those animals/builds too. 🤷

Meet the crabs!! They’re finally here!!

Looks like two bigger males and three smaller females. Hopefully I can get some mating action at some point.

The males clashed a little. Disputing territory, video to be coming out soon, sorry that fb is going to butcher the quality.

The red really pops in the paludarium. I’m happy I got tomato vampire crabs instead of another variety.
