Special Announcement:

For all those holding out for the DDOP event this year you’ll need to wait a little longer.

There will NOT be a DDOP event this May. We are taking a pause for possible rebranding and re-imagining of what it is our event offers the school percussion community.

When Mike and I started with this idea almost 15 years ago we didn’t see much happening in the Downriver area for percussion education (outside of the schools). We were happy to hold these grass roots events that brought National performers and presenters, introduced our students to the vast and incredible world of percussion, and most of all brought together a “community of percussionists.”

We are proud of all the great things that are now happening to educate the percussionist in Michigan - Michigan Alliance for Performing Arts, Lake Effect Percussion, Motor City Percussion, and the vision of the Michigan Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society. I hope that our young percussionists seek out these opportunities and continue to be inspired.

Let’s together keep the motivation up and the community moving forward!
