WFSC Family,
Please keep the Estey Family in your prayers, in the coming days, weeks, and months. Our beloved Bill Estey passed away Tuesday, August 4th, 2026.
Bill began on Roller Skates, and wheeled himself into a pair of Ice Skates. And what journey those Ice Skates led him.
One of the Founding Members of the Wyandotte Figure Skating Club.
President of the Skating Club.
Served as Delegate for WFSC at Governing Council. Served on U.S. Figure Skating Committees.
Vision to have a show for the skaters to showcase their skills and shine under the Spotlight. The vision is Ice Travaganza.
Performed in Ice Travaganza in the dance numbers and skated along side his daughter, Brenda. I was honored to skate in my very first Ice Travaganza along side Bill. It is one of my most cherished memories.
Bill along with the other men in the Show had comedy numbers. There were all memorable and funny, and they were in full character from head to ice skate.
Precision team member with the Silver Belles and Beau's.
Bill skated his way into the Tri State Council. Synchro Skaters, did you know that Bill along with several other men collaborated and their dedication the introduction of the Tri State Competition for precision skaters. Served as President. Membership Chair for Medals of the Tri State Individual and Tri State Precision/Synchro.
Bill glided his way into Detroit Metro Skating Council. Served as President. Active volunteer for major events affiliated with DMSC. U.S. Figure Skating Championships along with U.S. Figure Skating Synchronized Championships.
Michigan High School Series, Awards Chairperson. For over 20 years, organizing and distributing medals at the Team Meets to the Coaches. At the High School Final, Congratulating and placing the medal around the neck to the Skater at the Individual Events, and distributions to the coaches for the Team Final.
Bill you will be dearly missed by all. You touched the lives of Skaters and their Families, Coaches, members of local clubs.
Your kindness and smile will be etched in the hearts of all.
