Celebrating Our Own Kim Carney, A True Game Changer for Field Hockey!
We are beyond proud to share that our Premier cofounder, Kim Carney, has been nominated for USA Field Hockey’s National Grow the Game Award, recognizing her as one of the top five people in the entire country who are advancing and expanding the sport. If you know Kim, you know this honor couldn’t be more fitting.
Kim’s love for field hockey began long before her daughters ever touched a stick. She played the sport herself, including at the University of New Hampshire, and carried that passion with her throughout her life.
That passion was reignited in 2009 when her daughters began playing. What started as cheering from the sidelines quickly turned into years of hands-on involvement. Kim volunteered tirelessly in the local rec program, season after season, helping young athletes learn the game and grow with confidence.
Her commitment didn’t stop there. Kim spent several years coaching at Franklin High School, sharing her knowledge, competitive spirit, and love for the sport with countless players.
And in true Kim fashion, she didn’t just participate. She built opportunities for others.
She founded the Commonwealth League in Massachusetts, dramatically expanding field hockey opportunities across the region.
She went on to co-found Premier, the club we are all proud to be part of today. Because of her leadership, Premier has grown into a competitive, supportive, and inspiring home for athletes of all ages. Her vision and dedication continue to shape our program every single day.
Anyone who has worked with Kim knows how deeply she cares about the sport, about this community, and about every athlete who steps onto the field.
