Social Security Maximization with Enoch Boachie

Social Security is one of the most valuable benefits you'll receive in retirement. The good news? The longer you wait to claim, the more you receive - for the rest of your life. Whole life insurance can help create the flexibility to delay claiming Social Security until age 70, potentially increasing your guaranteed lifetime benefit while helping protect your other assets.

Thank you Worcester for such beautiful commemorations of Juneteenth! We couldn't have asked for a better turnout for our 6th Annual Juneteenth Flag Raising & 2026 Juneteenth Festival. We wanted to take a moment to say how proud we are as a committee that months and months of hard work led to this past weekend's beautiful day in the park honoring our history, our culture, our ancestors, and above all, those in Galveston, TX who endured this wicked moment in history.

We want to say a special thank you to all who contributed to the day to make this event possible - all of our volunteers (Corry, Beth, and Gary at the start of the day & Johnniel & Dfizah throughout the day). We also want to thank the Brothers from Elite Security Group for being there and reminding us there's other ways to keep our communities safe.

We want to send a thank you to Jerry Filmore & What's Up Worcester for documenting both events and showing up for the community!

Thank you to Luke Bass & Culture Studios for supporting with the sound on our main stage and to DJs Tyke & Chuck Chillin for holdin down the 1s and 2s.

Thank you to all the vendors, performers, and of course attendees of this year's festival. Everyone plays a role and contributes to the overall vibe of the day and we appreciate everyone who stopped by, spent the day, made a donation, danced, talked, shopped with vendors, kicked the soccer ball, and more!

Another thank you to all the organizations that contributed to our Kuumba Corner and of course to our sponsors!

There is more to come - hang tight and remember that freedom & all that is Juneteenth should remain on our hearts and minds beyond June 19th!

Our 2026 Juneteenth Festival is always a lot of fun on the surface, but our history is always a lot deeper than what it seems.

The Black Heritage Committee remembers a time when there were only a few people in a room that knew about Juneteenth. As we enter the age where more and more folks are aware of Juneteenth, we wanted to take a moment to share a bit more to ensure that we are all expanding our knowledge of what happened leading up to June 19th, 1865 and how this is relevant to us almost 2,000 miles away.

We hope you'll take a moment to check out Nia Cultural Center, Inc who work hard to ensure that the history of Juneteenth where it all originated, in Galveston, TX, is not forgotten.

We hope you'll take a moment to read, reflect, and engage with respect around some elements of The Juneteenth Story that are not usually talked about today. And of course, we hope that you will join us this morning for our 6th Annual Juneteenth Flag Raising this morning and the festival tomorrow.

Ever wonder about the meaning of The Juneteenth Flag?

The official Juneteenth Flag was designed in 1997 by Ben Haith - nicknamed "Boston Ben." Haith dedicated his life to fighting to make Juneteenth a federal holiday, though to this day it still is not, and bringing Juneteenth celebrations to communities small and large across the nation as the Founder of the National Juneteenth Celebration Foundation(NJCF).

Lisa Jeanne Graf took his initial design and created the flag of Juneteenth. She packed lots of meaning into her design, stating "the colors red, white, and blue echo the American flag to symbolize that the slaves and their descendants were Americans. The star in the middle pays homage to Texas, while the bursting 'new star' on the 'horizon' of the red and blue fields represents a new freedom and a new people."

This flag is used by Black Americans to affirm and remember the experiences of their ancestors and their struggles. Though we also appreciate the Pan-African Flag (Red Black, and Green), the Juneteenth is the only flag that was created specifically for the descendants of enslaved people in the united states.

Join us for our 6th Annual Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony & Reception tomorrow at 10 am at The YWCA Central Massachusetts.
