WORCESTER CONTRA DANCE!
Last evening caller Tod Whittemore called this fun singing square dance "Chime Bells"!
Here he was back at the VFW in Cambridge, MA, 31 years ago, December 1985, calling this same dance thanks to this videotape by Ernie Spence (the dancer wearing red shirt)! Yodelahoo!!

Worcester Contra Dance is back for the 2026-2027 season! We’re happy to be seeing our regulars, occasional dancers, and all new dancers in the hall once again.

First dance will be this upcoming Saturday September 12th where Dave Eisenstadler will be calling and our band will be Kingfisher.

Join us at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Worcester (114 Main St, Worcester, MA 01608). Dance begins at 7pm. Admission is sliding scale, $10 - $15 for adults, $6 - $8 for students, and $25 for a family - cash only!

Contra dancing is intergenerational, community oriented, beginner friendly, and extremely fun - think of the dance scenes from period pieces like Pride and Prejudice, it’s like that but way more modern and informal! Come by yourself or with a partner or friend, all are welcome.

New to dancing or coming back after a hiatus? A beginner’s lesson to teach you the basic parts of dancing is offered at 6:45pm. Role terms are “Gents & Ladies”, but anyone can dance any role (and they do!) More info at worcesterdance.org
