Pay It Forward Card Shows

Pay It Forward Card Shows CARD SHOW WITH A BETTER CAUSE. I collected sports cards as a kid.

I had vision to promote card shows as a way of giving back and partnered with the Orthodox Food Pantry

Left a few skid marks at Marconi Beach this morning.

Unfortunately, low tide wasn’t interested in cooperating and the surf report turned out to be all hat and no cattle.

No worries.

The Road Dog packed it up and headed over to Chapin Beach in Dennis, where the low tide was nothing short of spectacular. Miles of sand, fresh air, and plenty of room to clear the head and appreciate the ride.

As I walked the flats, my mind drifted toward the Father’s Day Show on Sunday, June 21st at the Leominster Elks Lodge.

The preparation never stops. The vision never stops. The gratitude never stops.

The cards are a blast, but it’s the kids, parents, vendors, friendships, and community that continue to make this journey worthwhile.

Sometimes the waves cooperate.

Sometimes they don’t.

Either way, you keep paddling.

Parents + Kids = The Future of the Hobby.

The miracles are way beyond the cards and the cash.

The Road Dog was wandering around Marconi Beach this morning and managed to find an old phone booth.

After a few tries and a handful of quarters, I was finally able to make a call.

Good news.

The Father’s Day Show is officially confirmed for Sunday, June 21st at the Leominster Elks Lodge.

While I was at it, I also confirmed that low tide was in full effect at Marconi Beach.

Mission accomplished.

Now it’s time to trade the phone booth for the be**er board, grab the wetsuit, and go catch a few rips.

Life is about balance. Some days it’s card shows, vendors, kids, and community. Other days it’s salt water, sand, and a reminder that less is more.

See you all on Father’s Day.

Parents + Kids = The Future of the Hobby.

This past weekend, a young collector named Jordan and her mom stopped by my table with a stack of slabbed cards.

They weren't looking to buy.

They weren't looking to sell.

They were looking to give back.

Jordan and her mom told me they wanted to donate the cards as a way of paying it forward to other kids in the hobby.

As we talked, Jordan reminded me that at her very first card show, I had given her a free binder. To be honest, I didn't think much of it at the time. It was just a small gesture.

What happened next is what the Pay It Forward mission is all about.

Jordan's mom told me that Jordan became hooked on the hobby. Not only that, but some of the cards she put into that binder turned out to be valuable enough that they're now being sent out for grading.

Think about that for a second.

A free binder turned into a passion for the hobby, quality time with family, and now Jordan and her mom are looking to pay it forward for someone else.

That's how this works.

One act of kindness becomes another.

The cards are the vehicle, but the real magic is the people, the relationships, and the lives that are touched along the way.

Thank you, Jordan and Mom, for reminding me why we do what we do.

The miracles are way beyond the cards and the cash.

Parents + Kids = The Future of the Hobby.

Chilling at Marconi Beach on Cape Cod and taking in the sights and sounds that make this place so special.

The surf is rolling in, low tide is in full gear, and the Road Dog is spending some time manifesting for the Father's Day Show on Sunday, June 21st at the Leominster Elks Lodge.

It's easy to get caught up in the hustle, but sometimes you need to slow down, reflect, and appreciate the journey. The friendships made, the lessons learned, the kids finding confidence, the parents sharing memories, and the community that continues to grow one show at a time.

The cards may bring us together, but the real magic is in the people.

Looking forward to another incredible Father's Day Show filled with buying, selling, trading, smiles, and plenty of memories.

Monster week.

Three card shows. Lots of buying, selling, trading, and making deals.

The cards are great. The cash is great. The hobby is great.

But nothing comes close to the interactions with the kids.

This week was filled with conversations, negotiations, teaching moments, laughs, and lessons that went far beyond cardboard. The amazing part is that it goes both ways. We teach them, and they teach us.

Watching the metamorphosis happen right in front of your eyes is something special. Seeing confidence grow. Watching kids learn to communicate, negotiate, shake hands, and build relationships. Seeing parents and kids connect through a common passion.

The lives touched in a positive way are immeasurable.

The cards may bring us together, but the people are what make this journey worthwhile.

Parents + Kids = The Future of the Hobby.

The miracles are way beyond the cards and the cash.

Pay It Forward Card Shows Road Dog was set up today at the Cardboard Promotions show at Solomon Pond Mall.

One of my favorite parts of this hobby isn’t the cardsβ€”it’s the kids.

I spent part of the day working deals, teaching negotiation skills, communication, confidence, and how to find common ground. Those lessons will serve them long after the cards are gone.

One of those deals was with Jordan, who happens to be a bad-ass hockey player. πŸ’πŸ”₯

Jordan’s asking price was $85. We talked it through, negotiated respectfully, and landed on $65. Deal done. Handshake. Everybody happy.

That’s the hobby at its best.

The cards matter. The money matters. But teaching kids how to communicate, negotiate, build relationships, and believe in themselves matters even more.

Parents + Kids = The Future of the Hobby.

The miracles are way beyond the cards and the cash.

Road Dog is headed to Holy Cross! πŸ•πŸ”₯

Pay It Forward Card Shows Road Dog is rolling over to the Hogan Campus Center for another Best Flippin Card Show.

I’ve had the privilege of working alongside the Best Flippin crew through our Junior Vendor Mentor Program, helping kids learn the hobby, build confidence, and develop skills that go far beyond buying and selling cards.

The cards are great, but the real magic is watching the next generation step up, shake hands, talk to customers, manage inventory, and learn what it means to be part of a community.

If you’re at the show today, stop by and talk turkey with the Road Dog. Buy. Sell. Trade. Share some stories and help us continue putting kids and families at the front of the line.

Parents + Kids = The Future of the Hobby.
