CARMEN.maquia is a retelling of the iconic tale of Carmen. Bizet's score is heavily vocal, so part of the reimagination of Carmen was the music:

"The music was one of the challenges. I didn’t want singing... so I did a lot of searching....There are two or three tracks that are from another part of Bizet['s works] and some versions that I found from different composers who played with the sound of Carmen. So with all that I made the soundtrack, and I was really, really happy because it really tells the story." (Gustavo Ramírez Sansano, choreographer)

The Adam Birnbaum Trio show has limited seating available. Makes sense: this show is one of a kind! Adam Birnbaum (piano) is joined by bassist Matt Clohesy (Darcy James Argue's Secret Society) and percussionist Keita Ogawa (Snarky Puppy) for a modern interpretation of Bach's preludes.
