Our community faces a crisis - with literacy proficiency dropping on average 30% during the Covid-19 pandemic. To ensure our community's future success, we need to help children and their families now; so more children will succeed in school: families will support reading and books will be accessible for everyone. Together, a stronger future for our community is within our reach. Your online contribution will ensure books get into the hands and hearts of Ohioans. #literacyforall Please visit www.buckeyebookfair.org to contribute online.

📚 Happy early birthday Theodor Seuss Geisel. You’ve shown us again and again how to be helpers. Let us all help each other through stories.

Here’s the link to the 1989 Turner animation.

This book adaption, written by Dr. Seuss in 1984, is a cold war metaphor with a unique ending.

FBI arrests suspect in bizarre, years-long manuscript theft scheme

“Given its (relatively) low stakes, and inherent interest to an entire profession who are, to put it politely, nerds, there’s been a pretty wide number of armchair and writing desk detectives trying to crack this case over the years, and who are hopefully feeling some measure of vindicated today.”

Book theft is not, on the whole, a crime that rates high on the sensationalism scale. Thieves rarely don ski masks and papercut-and-fingerprint-proof gloves in order to knock off a truck of Grishams; a major crime involving books will usually be more of the caliber of “Morrisey attempting to descr...

Here's a little recap from the Buckeye Book Fair on this past weekend's events! This was definitely a blast for us! Hoping to be back next year. 👍👍👍
Sharing ARCs of THE ECHOES, and more! Well, my wifi let us down! I ended with a shout out to the Buckeye Book Fair (check out their website/FB page and save the date for 2022 when they post it!), and to Karen Odden, Author, whose new novel "Down a Dark River" comes out TOMORROW, and she is my guest on Tea with Jess next Monday! And THE ECHOES is up for preorder, so get in your order or ask your library to order, and spread the word! https://us.macmillan.com/books/9781250623430
This weekend's Buckeye Book Fair in Wooster, Ohio, was so much fun! Here I am with my lovely assistant (aka my beautiful niece) 🙂 chatting up people and moving some books for charity. (The proceeds of the fair go to Ohio literacy causes.) It meant so much to be out and about, especially since the fair wasn't able to be held in-person last year because of the pandemic. I think that this is still a time of isolation for many of us - I was practically crying with joy to be out and about. It just underscores that we need each other, people! ❤️ So nice to see/meet the friends whom I know from this page, who stopped by to say hi!
I have loved this event for many years, but this year was a big disappointment. What happened?

Ohioana salutes the Buckeye Book Fair as it returns live in a new location - Greystone event center in Wooster. Many of your favorite Ohio authors and illustrators will be there. A great chance to do early holiday shopping for the book lovers on your list!
Stop by Ron Hill's table at the Buckeye Book Fair this Saturday, November 6, from 9:30–4:00 and get a free 60-second caricature. If you want to purchase one of his cartoon books, he will happily inscribe it however you like, too.
Meet Act 3 Authors Terry Gilbert, Carlo Wolff and Ron Hill at this year’s Buckeye Book Fair on Saturday, November 6 and purchase personally-inscribed copies of ALL their Act 3 books, including 2021’s “Trying Times” and “BB BluesBird and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Year.” Please share!
I'm so excited to be one of 50 Ohio authors taking part in this year's Buckeye Book Fair, which will be in person (with masks and safety measures in place). This is a fantastic place to pick up holiday gifts for your book-loving family. Ohio friends, hope to see you there! :) To learn more, see the website link in the comments below. Oh, and proceeds go to literacy charities! ♥️ Thanks to my publisher, Forever Romance, for your support! Buckeye Book Fair Forever
