The multiple award winning Thespian Troupe 7444 is a member of the International Thespian Society, an honor society for theatre students. A part of the Beacon Charter High School for the Arts, we strive for an academic and artistic excellence in our work. Students from all majors in the school can participate in our after school program. As part of the Rhode Island Theatre Education Association an

d the RI EdTA, we have been proud members of our local educational theatre community. In 2013 we hosted the 85th New England Drama Festival and were proud to open our school to all six states in New England. We are looking forward to many more years of great educational theatre in this urban public charter school.

The show is about a young girl named Celia who struggles with selective mutism. The performance explores how her mutism impacts her from kindergarten to high school. The play is told from the perspective of Todd, the only student who ever took the time to get to know Celia, and explores how Todd and Celia help each other learn and grow. This is a story of acceptance and friendship that is sure to evoke emotions. We hope you'll join us for this moving performance!

So proud of recent Beacon alum Mya Lemery! Tonight she was honored by NRICA as the 2022 recipient of the Jack Lawhead Scholarship. Mya is headed to Salve Regina University in the fall where she will continue her arts education!

FINAL UPDATE on Big Fish

We regret to inform you that Beacon’s spring musical “Big Fish” is cancelled. Due to a rise in COVID cases we are unable to continue with the show at this time.

UPDATE on Big Fish -

Due to recent events, we have made the decision to postpone our spring musical to the weekend of June 10th, 11th, and 12th.

New dates and times:

June 10th at 7:30 pm
June 11th at 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm
June 12th at 3:30 pm

All shows will still take place in the Beacon theatre. The ticket website has been updated to reflect the new dates and times and all tickets will be honored. If you would like a refund or if you’d like to switch your tickets to a different day/time please email Ms. Clancy at [email protected].

The cast and crew and ready to put on an amazing show on these new dates - we hope to see everyone there!
