A local couple reported to us that they received a phone call from someone claiming to be an officer with Clifton PD, telling them they missed jury duty and needed to pay $7500.

They knew it was a scam and did not give them any information.

But we wanted to remind everyone that no police agency will call you and request money for missing jury duty. Also most fines for missing jury duty aren’t that much.

If you receive a call like this and aren’t sure if it is legitimate. Hang up and call us and we can confirm.
