🚨 BREAKING NEWS FROM DOWNTOWN WOODVILLE 🚨

I am pleased to report that the extra block of color at the bottom of the ā€œiā€ has been removed.

The mural is now safe for public viewing. šŸ˜‚

Thank you to all who brought this matter to our attention. We can all sleep peacefully tonight.

And for those of you who didn’t notice it until somebody pointed it out and then couldn’t unsee it (šŸ™‹šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø), here’s a new picture of our beautiful mural, now minus its controversial little extra appendage.

All is well in Woodville again. ā¤ļø

We have plenty of seats left if anyone was on the fence about coming. Not sure what it’s all about? I invite you to call me and I’ll let you know!

We have no event photos to share with you this morning (we know how you love those Sunday morning posts!), but we wanted to share a special upcoming event that’s open to anyone.

We posted this in the official FB event, but I wanted to share here it because social media algorithms can be strange. Maybe someone who hasn’t seen previous posts will catch this one.

šŸ’ Event Date: This Tuesday, August 18th
šŸ’ Event time: 6-8PM
šŸ’ Location: Planters - 651 Main Street
šŸ’ Who’s invited? Anyone is welcome, but we try to limit seats to 20. 10 of 20 seats have been claimed, so reach out by phone or message if you would like to attend.

One of our favorite quotes is: "When you have more than you need, build a longer table not a higher fence."

When we purchased Planters in 2019, our goal was simple: to create a place that fostered community.

In 2024, we personally began inviting people from different walks of life to private events we called ā€œThe Tableā€ā€”dozen or so people coming together for a meal and conversation.

Now we are publicly launching an official monthly gathering of the same name and purpose.

We believe tables are where conversation and understanding begin. The Table isn’t just another dinner party. It’s a place where stories are told, where meals are shared, and where strangers become neighbors. It’s where friendships form, ideas take root, and community happens.

In a world that seems to be angling for the next dollar, more likes and shares, or more clout, the mission of The Table may seem too simple: to create a space where people feel they belong. But that’s it. It really is that simple.

Join us for an evening of stories, conversation, music, food, coffee. Bring a friend. Leave with a new one.

Don’t forget to reach out by phone, text, email, or FB message to confirm your spot. We look forward to getting to know you!

✨ We’ll show you photos of the decor, but 1-year-old twins Ka’Mani and Ka’Marion were the real stars of this celebration! A colorful Lilo & Stitch luau theme set the stage, and custom marquee letters took it to another level. Shout out to their dad JaQuarious for being such a fabulous return client! ✨

And if you’re bothered by that extra block of color on the ā€œiā€ (see our previous post if you have no idea what I’m talking about), you are really going to lose your mind when you start counting from 1 to 25 and realize there’s a number missing!

In all seriousness though, imperfections happen, and I’ve learned to embrace them. When we allow others to see our own mistakes, it gives them permission to be imperfect, too! That’s how grace works—and that’s something we could use a lot more of in this world.

Now y’all let me know when you figure out what number is missing!šŸ˜‰

UPDATE: For those who have noticed the little extra block of color at the bottom of the ā€œiā€ā€¦ congratulations—you have an excellent eye. šŸ†
It wasn’t intentional, and yes, it’ll be fixed.

Until then, let’s all practice the ancient art of looking at the other 99.9% of the mural and stand in awe of the hundreds of hours of creativity, talent, and hard work that went into this mural rather than one imperfection.

Thanks to everyone who’s shared kind words and encouragement. That’s exactly what we hoped this mural would do—bring a little more color and joy to downtown Woodville. We are most excited to see *your* photos šŸ“ø of this beautiful wall!

I asked for fresh, unique, and something everyone in Woodville would be proud of. I was presented with three mural options and immediately felt this was THE ONE! In my eight years in Woodville, I have come to love this colorful place I call home. We aren’t a perfect town, but we are full of caring, generous, loving people.

I love all of the work the Woodville Main Street Association has done to make our town refresh happen. THANK YOU!
