Come to Woodstock

Come to Woodstock We love this area and choose to be here, to promote our town’s culture and local talent, to support the continuation of the arts colony. This is our philosophy.

Our goal is to bridge the gap between locals and visitors by speaking our common language about all those things that we do to make ourselves feel better-maybe for you it’s fresh organic local food and yoga, or rock n’ roll and beer. People Come to Woodstock to FEEL BETTER

o make ourselves feel better–maybe for you it’s fresh organic local food and yoga, or rock n’ roll and beer. We are all tourists on this planet. Some of our writers were born and raised here, and are still discovering new exciting things to see and do in the Catskills. When people spend time in Woodstock – they feel better. It drives lots of attention to us.

What was Woodstock like in the years before we lent our name to a generation? What, for this purpose, might Mill Hill Road have presented to the passerby before the world “found” us in the years prior to a certain festival? (Even though we were doing quite well, thank you.)

Simi Stone has toured America and the world, but Woodstock is definitely home. Woodstock is the place where she can recharge her batteries, and create her art and her music. Last Saturday Simi played to a packed house at The Colony, where her singing, at times soulful, at times joyful, had her audience on its feet and dancing with joy to the beat of her band (Sara Lee-Bass, Chogyi Lama-Guitar, Travis Shook-keyboard/piano, Aaron Johnston -drums) and the inimitable sounds of her violin and guitar.

A village sits against Catskill’s lush, splendid backdrop. Though small in size, the village has made its home and its mark at the foot of the mountains, baring a rich history and cradling its legacy. Along its narrow streets, in its cafes, shops, and performance venues, out in its woods and hills, a distinct, unparalleled experience can be found. This is Woodstock, and here is the Woodstock Travel Guide. [ 684 more words ]

Lindsey Webster returned to the Colony on May 18th, accompanied by Isaac Civitello – drums, Mike DeMicco – guitar, Fred Doumbe – bass, Ken Gioffre – saxophone and Keith Slatterry – keyboard. Lindsey treated us to a bravura performance of soulful R&B and Jazz which had her father and sister, who still live here, leading the audience in enthusiastic dancing. [ 28 more words ]
