Another exciting day as things continue to move forward. Crews are unloading the beautiful acoustic sound panels, in which will be installed on the auditorium walls in the theatre. The gold pattern is the same as the original style but a smaller print. We were fortunate the style was still manufactured. Crews will jump into action first thing tomorrow getting these all installed in their respective locations.
Believe it or not, carpeting installation is set to begin next week, and seats are just about ready to be shipped to begin installing the seating around August 10th. Still many many things to be completed, but the pace is picking up, and things are really moving along. Much of the interior painting will continue in those areas that remain. Once sound panels are installed, we will be about ready for the new stage floor, Sound and video equipment installs. The days are sliding by. Keep watching for more updates, and they’re saying the ticket booth will be opening soon to enable us to offer walk-up ticket sales.

Things keep moving as as we currently have TICKETS ON SALE NOW at monroetheatretickets.com for (3) AMAZING shows. Two more shows will be going on sale soon. Keep watching for new show updates.
Things are moving along at an astounding pace now. Flooring epoxy was just finished on Friday so the floors will be ready for seats. Tomorrow, (Monday, July 27th), fabric covered sound panels are to arrive and installation of those will begin. Seating is expected to arrive in the second week of August, and when it does, Seating will begin installation.
You will also notice when the plywood enclosure comes down very very soon. This part is very exciting, as ticket sales will then be available daily at the window. You'll also notice at that time the marquee poster displays coming to life advertising upcoming shows and events. Before you know it, red carpet will be rolled out, Chrome posts and read barrier ropes will take their place, and well be welcoming everyone back. We're excited to see you soon!

More positive news to share for theatre patrons as we fast approach our reopening on October 9th. This past Monday night, I had called and asked to be placed on the agenda at Woodsfield Village Council meeting to discuss the theatre. Not only do i want to thank the council for allowing me to present my case, but for the outcome as well.
I addressed the fact that we have doubled our capacity at the theatre, and were working diligently, to secure additional parking access for visitors while not imposing on businesses that were open, and also trying to operate during showtimes. I explained that even though we have reached out and gained access to several places to expand parking, the fact still remained that there was still insufficient parking available for handicap. I also stated that there were also zero spaces in front of Monroe Theatre that were dedicated to handicap or disabled individuals, and i presented my suggestion.
I urged council to allow The Monroe Theatre to be allowed to post signs that would earmark ( ALL ) parking spaces directly in front of the theatre as handicap spaces, on days in which we hold shows. Council had a few questions as to how it would work. Council agreed the theatre can provide signage that would be posted during these times, and removed immediately after each event, allowing every space be made available to those in need of that close parking.
Theatre volunteers will help monitor these spaces during these times, ensuring those parking there would in fact be handicapped and have appropriate signage permitting them to park there. Theatre volunteers also discussed the challenge of the back in parking for those persons as well, and their possibly low confidence in attempting to park. We came up with the idea that we would offer a valet type assisted parking attendant that could help them get parked.
We understand this is only a handful of spaces, but its another step in the right direction. I'm very grateful to the council for hearing my proposal, and allowing us to move forward in implementing this much needed parking arrangement. The last thing we want to have is people not coming to shows and events due to parking issues. I think this was a very positive outcome. Along with our decision to purchase and operate a FREE SHUTTE service for designated parking areas, we can now offer a service unlike any other theatre in the Tri-State area. We continue to work hard to ensure that you have the best experience possible when visiting The Historic Monroe Theatre. Thank you Woodsfield Village Council for allowing us to put this in place.
( ADDITIONAL NOTE) - This will ONLY be during theatre show and event times. All other times, signs will be removed, and spaces will return to normal parking spaces as they were.

We met today and discussed the true need to offer our patrons an option of getting to the theatre from the parking areas. We are purchasing a street legal Limosine shuttte Cart do this. We will announce the primary shuttle lots, and the signs will reflect the shuttle comes there. This does not fall under any grant. We gotta make it happen other ways. If anyone is interested in helping sponsor this wonderful addition, please reach out. This would be great advertising option as well. We will display business names and logos on the shuttle, showing you helped provide this for our patrons. These are not cheap by any means, but we see the need, and we are moving on it. We hope to have the shuttle in place by opening night, but looking to purchase now. Should you choose to donate, your donation is Tax Deductible. It can also be anonymous should you wish it be.
