Oh, how we WISH we could say yes to all furry friends with our whole entire hearts, but unfortunately pets and emotional support animals are not allowed on the festival grounds or campgrounds. It’s for everyone’s safety (particularly because there are cannons, loud music and elaborate costumes). We wouldn’t want any furry friends to be startled or end up as goblin dinner. We hope you understand 🐾
Support animals? No. Service animals? YES, absolutely!!
Service animals are always welcome. The ADA defines a service animal as an animal that has been ‼️individually trained‼️ to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability — and those tasks must be directly related to that disability. In Washington State, that means a dog of any size or breed, or a miniature horse (yes really, miniature horses are VALID and we love them).
Here are some important things you should know about service animals.
- Your animal needs to be under your complete control at all times — leash, harness, tether, or voice control if a tether isn’t possible for you
- They must be housebroken — accidents in public spaces may unfortunately mean removal from the event, and nobody wants that
- Vaccinations and licensing must be current and in accordance with Washington State and county laws
- You are fully responsible for their care — feeding, watering, cleanup, all of it, the whole time you’re on festival or campground property
- A vest or documentation is preferred but NOT required
You may be asked just two questions and that’s it; we promise we aren’t trying to make it weird:
1. Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability?
2. What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?
That’s all!! We can’t wait to meet your very good and very official helper 🐕
