Susan De Jackmo has worked for many years helping victims of domestic violence in northern New Jersey ... De Jackmo will be a panelist at the 3rd Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Symposium being held at New Milford High School today, which will feature participants from across New Jersey speaking on the subject. The event will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will be held virtually, livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube.

The issue of domestic violence is being addressed in different ways by various people in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

NEW MILFORD – The Senior Center has been set up with injection stations and is ready for when the borough receives a supply of coronavirus vaccine from the state.

New Milford spent about $3,000 for the special refrigerator needed to store vaccines.

NEW MILFORD — By summer's end, a softball diamond and soccer fields are slated to occupy the now barren field situated between a ShopRite and New Milford High School.

Development of the new Knights Field, located between Madison Avenue and River Road, will become a reality after Paterson-based Grade Construction Inc. was approved as the contractor by the Borough Council in December. Diaco came in as the lowest bidder, at $577,797 to make improvements.

Work to begin on the new Knights Field in New Milford in the spring that will bring a softball diamond and several soccer practice fields.

The New Milford School District will transition to all-virtual learning from Nov. 30 until Feb. 1.

New Milford Schools Superintendent Michael Polizzi on Thursday said the decision was made based on a recommendation from the New Milford Health Department due to an increase of COVID-19 cases in the town and Bergen County, not because of an increase in the schools.

The New Milford School District is going all-virtual from Nov. 30 until Feb. 1 due to a spike in COVID-19 cases in the borough and in the county.

The Second Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Symposium will feature panelists who work on the issue, local and state government officials, and a survivor of domestic violence. However, only the participants will be in person. seated in accordance to social distancing guidelines, while the audience will be able to participate through a Facebook stream on the borough’s webpage.

For the second year in a row, a domestic violence symposium will be held in New Milford this month, with the event taking place on Oct. 28.
