There's been so much to Shellebrate this summer! Not only is the Long Island Mermaid Pod shellebrating 10 years together, we are flipping our fins with excitment about this new musical about, well, us! THE MERMAIDS!
Back in 2022 Billy Recce a long island based composer reached out to us about doing some interviews with mermaids for his newest idea for a musical. He ended up speaking with myself mermaid_aria_cloe who is head of the Long Island Mermaids, Mist The Mermaid & ✨Caylis the Mermaid✨ two of our original members who founded the group though our first planned meetup, and Mermaid Raelyn another long time member of our group. About both the community and professional side of the mermaid world.
The Mermaids will be playing at Timber Lake Playhouse through August 30th
While thats a far swim from our home lagoon in Long Island New York I spent alot of my childhood in Illinois and will be heading there to shellebrate this new show!
If you are a Midwestern merperson we want to extend the opportunity for you to join us in experiencing the world premiere of this show as well as help us cast our net and spread the word to audiences who will really connect to the heart of the show! For any mermaids interested coming to the show, all you need to do is bring your tail to the box office for a pair of complimentary tickets, in exchange for posting about the show when you visit!
