We are most excited to introduce our new vocal and musical theater teacher, Nate Paul! Our students are looking forward to working with you on this year's musical theater production!
It will be magnificent!

We are delighted to announce that Nate Paul will be joining the UVA Wise Music Division of Music as our new Adjunct Instructor of Voice and Music Theater!

Nate brings an impressive combination of performance experience, vocal pedagogy, and a genuine passion for helping singers discover and develop their voices. A tenor and vocologist, Nate has performed extensively in opera, musical theater, concert repertoire, and other vocal styles, while also building a strong career as a voice teacher and music educator.

Nate holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Middle Tennessee State University, a Master of Music and Graduate Certificate in Vocology from Indiana University, and is currently pursuing his doctorate at IU.

This fall, Nate will be teaching Applied Voice, Music Theater Workshop, and music directing this year's musical RENT at UVA Wise.

Please join us in welcoming Nate to UVA Wise! We are thrilled to have him joining our faculty and look forward to the expertise, energy, and enthusiasm he will bring to our voice students.

We love all the local festivals! The High K**b Outdoor Festival is a week-long celebration of the regions abundant outdoor adventures; offering trips, activities, and presentations focused on getting more people outdoors! Today is the culmination of the celebration featuring vendors, food trucks, craft beer, outdoor activities, demonstrations, jam sessions and live music.

As finals week begins, our actors say goodbye to The Changeling after an amazing closing night with a crowd that enjoyed the show as much as the performers did! We hope to see everyone back again next semester!

Meet the students who work behind the scenes to make The Changeling happen!

⭐Stage Manager - Emma⭐
Emma Lyall is an English major in her second year at UVA Wise. She previously was the Assistant Stage Manager for 9 to 5. As a lover of books, Emma is a big fan of the romantic era of writing as well as "Pride and Prejudice" and "The Great Gatsby".

⭐Light Operator - Mia⭐
Mia is a Wise county native and a biology major with an arts minor at UVA-Wise. They are active in the arts but this is their first year doing tech for any play! Mia loves animals and being crafty in many different ways like crochet, quilting, drawing, and sewing. Mia cannot wait to help this production of changeling come to life!

⭐Scenic designer/Lighting designer - Cedric⭐
Along with Cedric's role as Tomazo on stage, he is also the Scenic designer, Lighting Designer, Assistant Technical Director, and Shop Carpenter.

⭐ Dramaturg/Costume Designer - Celeste⭐
When she isn't on the stage as Beatrice Joanna, Celeste is designing and constructing the costumes for this show. She has also been supplying research to the cast on The Salpetriere( the setting of this play) as well as on hysterical movement.
