This is a great record swap. The next one is Sunday 6/14. Plenty of time to find some new treasures and bring them in to classic Vinyl to play in the PM!

Hello Record Fans. Here’s the 2026 show dates of Record Shows Maine.
For the Buyers: another smooth transition into year five. Same location, same times, same entrance fees and the same great experiences awaiting you. Thank you for your support. For the Vendors: some of you already know there’s going to be a few changes. The most noticeable is Mike has a new direction in life and will be leaving the show. Taking the helm will be Hartley. You’re already familiar with her, she’s the lady that runs the front desk. Please note the new phone number for table reservations and any questions you may have. Also, look closely at the new flyer for several other changes. And thank you for your support in helping the show grow these past few years. We’ll see you in March. Cool Beans.

Never can resist a good Emmy Lou/Grammy Parsons story...

The ache in "Sin City" is easy to miss until Emmylou Harris sings it. The song began with Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman in 1969, but when Emmylou recorded it for 1975’s Elite Hotel, she did not treat it like a relic from the country-rock boom. She sang it as if the warning had followed her into the room. Elite Hotel went to No. 1 on the country album chart, yet "Sin City" was never about easy success. It was about moral drift, lost innocence, and the terrible shine of things that promise more than they give. That is why her version still feels less like a cover and more like a quiet reckoning.

The highlight of the weekend was Pepper Powers' copy of Burton Cummings self titled album. He was the lead singer for the Guess Who. It had a version of Randy Bachman's You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet. Stunning version! I now have 3 of his albums.
