Vendor Highlight! - Sweet Olive Farm!

SOFAR USA offers a safe and welcoming animal rescue space in Winterville, GA. Our mission is to provide a forever home for farm and exotic animals that are unwanted, injured, elderly, homeless and need a safe place to land. Our mission also includes creating a nurturing and healing space for animals and humans, with a special focus on children. Founded in 2010 SOFAR is now home to over 200 rescue animals. The animals give back in unconditional love which feeds the soils of all who enter their grounds.

To help support the animals, they sell alpaca fiber, alpaca socks, and other sundries. They also have a yearly bike ride fundraiser! There are list of ways to support their work so come on out and meet them and buy up all their raw alpaca fiber!!

Fairily Fiber Fun is a small fiber arts business specializing in hand-dyed wool for handspinners, along with hand-carded batts, rolags, and occasional handspun yarn. I focus on creating vibrant, inspiring colorways using high-quality fibers—many sourced from US producers—and enjoy encouraging creativity through education, demonstrations, and a welcoming community. My goal is to empower creativity one fiber at a time by helping makers discover the joy of spinning and fiber arts.

Vendor Highlight! - Mary Rugg

Don’t miss this opportunity to get your hands on something exquisitely hand made by Mary Rugg!

From Mary: Weaving has been my love and passion since the receipt of a spinning wheel and loom as part of a barter with a sheep farmer in 1976.

My first lessons were from Margaret Carr, “your weaving grandmother” through the Rochester Museum of Art. An opportunity to study weaving with Janet Jackson, textile professor at SUNY Geneseo, NY furthered my skill and interest to pursue weaving focusing on color, texture and design.

Upon moving to Athens, GA in 1984, I was commissioned to weave various pieces, using origami to reflect the elements of Japanese style.

For 30+ years I wove with Erika Lewis and honed my skills. After retiring from UGA in 2014, I began weaving full time and offering my work for sale at numerous art and craft markets. Several of my works have been accepted into juried shows at the Lyndon House Arts Center and the OCAF shows and local and regional markets.

I weave using fibers that reflect my love of color and texture to create garments that flow and drape the body with panache! Weaving on 4 & 8 harness looms as well as rigid heddle looms, using age old traditions allow me to create innovative patterns.
I currently teach weaving out of my home studio and enjoy sharing my passion with others.
