Clyde's exhibit America the Beautiful is now on display at the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens.

Clyde’s America the Beautiful exhibit celebrates the beauty of the American landscape from the Redwood forests of California to the Everglade swamps of Florida. Clyde majestically captures the public natural lands set aside by the Federal and State governments for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations.

Exhibit ends December 6, 2026.

Czech Heritage Day at Polasek Museum!
Sunday, September 13 | Free Admission

Join us as we mark the anniversary of Albin Polasek’s immigration to America. Spend the day soaking up traditional music, crafts, and stories that celebrate the culture behind Polasek’s art and legacy.

Don’t miss An Afternoon with the Bach Festival Society, with performances at 1:45pm and 3pm featuring traditional Moravian and Czech music that would have been popular during Albin’s own lifetime in his homeland.

You’ll also find Pysanky egg coloring, Modrotisk art making, a Czech mythological sculpture scavenger hunt, story time, and docent-led tours through Polasek’s historic home.

The Polasek Museum is honored to present this stunning exhibition by internationally acclaimed photographer Clyde Butcher. In honor of the nation’s 2026 Semiquincentennial, these breathtaking black-and-white photographs capture the grandeur and enduring beauty of the American landscape — from the redwood forests of California to the Gulf Stream waters and wetlands of Florida.

The Gallery is closed this week while we install a new exhibit, but the Historic Home and Gardens are open. Retired to Winter Park in 1950, Albin Polasek continued sculpting here even after a stroke in 1951. The residence he lived and worked in is recognized as a Historic Artists’ Home and Studio, surrounded by the sculpture gardens he shaped along Lake Osceola. Come visit the home Albin Polasek built.

We’re honored to be featured in the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce Arts & Culture series! This fourth installment takes viewers through our lakeside gardens and galleries, sharing the story of Albin Polasek’s life and legacy in the place he once called home.

One of Albin Polasek’s last classical works, made at the height of his career as head of sculpture at the Art Institute of Chicago. The original went missing for decades, found in storage in poor condition. This casting, made in 2016, brought her back.

A century-old tribute to America, on view for the first time ever.
In 1926, Albin Polasek’s sculptural relief — a rider bearing a torch atop Pegasus — was chosen as the official souvenir medal of the Sesquicentennial International Exposition, celebrating America’s 150th birthday. Struck in brass at the U.S. Mint’s fairground exhibit, these medals became treasured keepsakes for exposition visitors.

Now, in celebration of America’s upcoming 250th, the original relief is on view in our gallery alongside the medals for the very first time. Come see where art and history meet.

The museum will be closed Saturday, July 4th and open again Sunday. We hope you’ll stop by soon.
