The final piece on the March 19th concert by the Pavel Haas Quartet :
Antonín Dvorák's (1841-1904) String quartet no.14 in A-flat Major, op.105

The ultimate homecoming. 🎻 After years in America, Dvořák returned to his beloved Bohemia and poured his joy into String Quartet No. 14. This was his final chamber work—a life-affirming "thank you" to his homeland. The Pavel Haas Quartet brings an unmatched authenticity to this repertoire.

Passion, tension, and secret messages. 💌 The second work on our 3/19 concert, Martinů’s String Quartet No. 5 is widely considered one of the most important Czech quartets of the 20th century. Written in Paris in 1938, it is a deeply personal work rumored to contain musical "quotes" dedicated to his student, Vítězslava Kaprálová. It’s raw, emotional, and powerful.
Don't miss this "all-Czech" program performed by the Pavel Haas Quartet on March 19!
