The Affiliates is a live-action graphic novel combining projected comic art, live voice acting, percussion, sound effects, and immersive storytelling into one unforgettable experience. Part spy thriller, part underground concert, part supernatural mystery, this original production brings graphic novel panels to life on stage in a bold new way.

Presented at Camel City Playhouse, The Affiliates follows Dada, Aura, and Cam as they uncover hidden powers, dangerous enemies, and a city filled with secrets hiding in plain sight. Performances take place Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12 at 7:00 PM.

June Sadler is a writer, filmmaker, educator, and creative experience designer with an MFA in Screenwriting and a passion for bringing original ideas from the mind’s eye into the real world. She is the creator of Woke City Chronicles, now streaming on Tubi, and The Affiliates, an original story universe that has expanded into a full staged production, and the weekly radio show The Affiliates: AfterStory on WDRB Media. Through her work across film, television, theater, radio, and interactive storytelling, June continues to explore the question she made iconic through BLASH!TV: “What’s your superpower, and what happens if you use that power for good?”

Darrell Stover (Narrator) is a professor at North Carolina State University whose work explores the powerful connections between culture, music, poetry, and education. As a poet and cultural advocate, he uses the arts to inspire meaningful conversations and create connections across diverse communities. Darrell also travels throughout North Carolina with the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, bringing science, music, and cultural storytelling together in engaging and innovative ways. Through his work, he continues to demonstrate how creativity and cultural expression can make science and education more accessible, inspiring and impactful.

Regina “Gina” Brown, (Aura, Farrah and other voices) born in Dade County, Miami, Florida, and raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is a mother, grandmother, event planner, host, and emerging actress who brings passion and personality to everything she does. Her acting journey began with her first paid role in The Tea Is Served, followed by appearances in Boots on the Ground, a Blango Production, and as a background performer in Tyler Perry’s The Gospel of Christmas. Gina continues to expand her creative journey, with two upcoming productions through Prophetic Productions in 2026 and 2027. Playing the role of Aura, she dedicates every performance, big or small, to the memory of her beloved parents, Calvin and Rita Jean Watson, whom she lovingly believes now have VIP seats alongside Jesus and God. Gina lives by the simple philosophy that inspires her journey: Live, Laugh, and LOVE
