Congratulations to our chapter members Ekin Üstunel, Scarlette Kerr, Celeste Watson, Anni Wang, and Andrea Arévalo at the "Piano Days" Conference in Turkey. This was hosted and organized by Anadolu University in Eskişehir. The conference being virtual had its benefits, it had participants from 15 different Turkish cities and 4 different countries. The theme of the conference was the Lister-Sink Method, continued with personal injury stories, moving forward to how to practice (science behind mental practice), and how to prepare for performances. It was a highly advertised event and we got to share the platform with some of the most respected pianists in Turkey. Congratulations !

Celeste Watson and Scarlette Kerr presented “Reframing the ‘How’ in Teaching How to Play the Piano.” Andrea Arévalo prensented "Strategies for Preparing Students to Face Different Performance Settings.” Bethany Cothern presented "Hypermobility and the Potential Impact on the Developing Pianist." Congratulations to our presenters at the MTNA collegiate chapter piano pedagogy symposium at Ball State University, IN. Our chapter presented two presentations: “Reframing the ‘How’ in Teaching How to Play the Piano”, and “Music Learning Theory: Understanding the Principles of Audiation and How It Influences Our Teaching.” Thank you for all the support from our advisor Barbara Lister-Sink from Salem College, friendly support from all the colleagues at the symposium!
